To support herself, she worked in a café while also participating in open mic nights. Simon Raymonde, the head of Bella Union record label, happened to be a customer at the café. Impressed by Macve’s performances, he signed her to the label. This collaboration led to the recording of her debut solo album, “Golden Eagle,” which was released in March 2017.
