Holly Macve was born on May 23, 1995 in Galway, western Ireland. Her mother and sister relocated to live with her grandparents in West Yorkshire. Macve’s grandfather, Duncan Druce, was a classical composer.

Her musical journey began through her mother’s diverse record collection, ranging from old blues to Bob Dylan. These early influences sparked her interest in artists such as Leonard Cohen, Johnny Cash, and Gillian Welch.

As per Wikipedia, At the age of 18, Macve went to Brighton, where she started showcasing her musical talents at local venues. To support herself, she worked in a café while also participating in open mic nights. Simon Raymonde, the head of Bella Union record label, happened to be a customer at the café. Impressed by Macve’s performances, he signed her to the label. This collaboration led to the recording of her debut solo album, “Golden Eagle,” which was released in March 2017.

As talking more about her Musical Career, Macve has performed at various music festivals, including Glastonbury, End Of The Road, Latitude, and Electric Picnic. After her participation in South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas in 2017, The New York Times recognized her as one of the “top 12 notable acts.”
